Apartamento

A very modern, recently constructed, one-bedroom apartment located very close to Paris proper (5 minutes from the Champs Elysées on public transport). Up to three people can comfortably sleep here if one person takes the very large, wide sofa. 45 square metres (approx 500 square feet) plus a small balcony. The apartment is very bright because I live on the fifth floor of a seven storey building on a rather wide street; there is of course an elevator. Free local and international telephone calls can be made from my apartment. Spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower from the street (but unfortunately not from the apartment itself). -Living room: long, wide sofa which becomes a very comfy bed for one person; large flat-screen TV with several English language news channels (HD cable); large desk with wireless high-speed internet connection; fold-up dining table and chairs. -Kitchen: large fridge, inbuilt stove/oven; microwave; dishwasher plus all the essential equipment for cooking and dining. -Bedroom: Queen-size bed; closet; bedside table and lamp. -Bathroom; bath/shower; washbasin; washing machine/dryer (in France it is quite common to keep washing machines in bathrooms).

Alrededores

Courbevoie is a small, charming, bourgeois (super safe) town located just four kilometres from the Champs Elysées in central Paris. My apartemnt is situated right on the main shopping street of Courbevoie with all the traditional outlets one would expect from a typical Parisian district: boulangeries, cheese shop, wine merchants, flower sellers, fish monger's, butcher's, traiteurs etc. There are also several supermarkets, brasseries and fast food names like MacDonald's, Subway plus many more. There are excellent public transport facilites which will whisk you into central Paris in a matter of minutes. The apartment is only a ten-minute walk to the famous 'La Défense' district. For New Yorkers the town of Courbevoie is to central Paris what Brooklyn is to Manhattan. For londoners it's like being in Vauxhall, Hammersmith or Islington PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN DETAIL: A) There is a train station located 4 minutes walk away from my apartment with trains to the Gare St. Lazare in central Paris, the journey time is exactly 11 minutes and there are trains every ten to fifteen minutes from 6am to 1am in the morning. (Direct trains from here to Versailles also -25 minute train ride) B) The metro station is located about a 12-minute walk away from my apartment in our neighbouring district called La Défense which is locally known as Little Manhattan (google it and you'll see why). At La Défense you'll find line 1 of the metro system which crosses Paris from one end to the other with links along the way to practically ever other metro line in the city. C) There is also another transport system that takes you from La Défense to downtown Paris, called the R.E.R. It goes much further out into the suburbs and only makes a few stops in central Paris. It is the system I personally use most. The R.E.R. will take you from La Défense to the Champs Elysées in only 5 minutes.This same RER will also take you all the way out to EuroDisney.
